Admit Day at John Muir College!

How was admit day at JOHN MUIR college?

I came like 15 mins later to UCSD because of the hold up of cars at Gilman Drive. It was pretty confusing at first because they only had Warren & 6th college parking signs while I was looking for John Muir parking signs. It was all good because I made a U-turn then proceed on Scholars Lane/Drive and parked near the Faculty Club. I went to the John Muir Admit booth and they told me that it was not necessary to check in. I was directed to the second floor ballroom for overview of UCSD itself at 8:30-9:00 then later was directed downstairs to Humanities & Social Science Room #1330 to hear a session about Muir College. The girls were not ugly to tell you the truth. There were some above avg looking ones but I’m not sure if that is the same with the guys.

They talked about GE requirements, the importance of writing, and the social life about UCSD.

The tours of the residence hall was very popular. I was in one afternoon tour with a girl that brought 70 people and crowded them in the lounge on the ninth floor of Tioga Hall. There was a huge amazing banner coming down from the 8th floor to the 2nd floor with the colored words John Muir. The banner was long and colorful falling downwards. At the 9th floor, there was this weird spiral stair leading up to the 10th, and 11th floor. 9th floor had a pretty view of the ocean and the balcony in the rear rooms had nice views of the beach as well. The floor is co-ed but the room is same sex. All the other colleges are not co-ed like us. I agree that Muir dorms are not new but the nicest view of the ocean and co-ed floors make up for it. I didn’t have the chance to visit Tenaya Hall. =[ Muir is the only one with a Surf shop which I was excited about because I am a surfer person. I am planning to join the Surfer club too. The tour guide also showed me the old bookstore where they sold UCSD sweaters for $20. =] Great deal.

Overall, it was a pretty much fun experience. Btw, the line for Panda Express was long!

BTW, Muir isn't the only co-ed. Warren is co-ed on the floor. Its only single sex in the suite.

Or at least thats what my tour said.

wayyytooworried: my friend at ucsd verified that. its true!
