just wondering if there are any organized days for admitted freshman to tour the campus and learn more about the university. I just got back from the blue devils days at duke and was hoping that ut austin would host something simmilar.

I spent about half a day in austin and went on an unofficial tour of the campus at ut and saw the city of austin. i really liked it there and am leaning towards going there, but i kinda wished i could have stayed a bit longer. how much more beneficial would it be to go to an official tour? i know theres probably tons to see in austin, but is it worth it to go back and get to know the campus and current students a bit more before making a college decision?

if you go to sign up for a visit, there is a special one just for admitted students. it includes a tour and a Q&A session and a presentation, something to that extent I’m pretty sure.
Maybe more is included in that visit, I’m not exactly sure! I just signed up for it this week haha. It’s not a designated day, though. I’m pretty sure they do the same thing for admitted students frequently each month.

We did the info session and tour last week. Also spent time with a dean at son’s major school. Sometimes they can also arrange for you to sit in on a class or two. Made a big impression.

I just signed up to visit austin next week on thursday. I’ve got the generic student tour + a residence hall tour of jester (i just did jester since I got my housing in very late and heard i most likely would get jester). I have a few questions in preparation though.

How regimented are these tours? Like I was hoping to be able to sit in on some classes, view the honors dorms, view the engineering department (bme area) and stuff.
