Admitted off the waitlist today! I was shocked to hear this early, has anyone else heard?

How did they let you know?
What school and major did you get into?
What are your stats?

As you can see I am really nervous since I’m on the waitlist. Any more info you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Also, did you contact them after first hearing you were on the waitlist?

Hi HydroThunder,

I got admitted today from the waiting list. Here is the email that they sent me:

We are very pleased that you have expressed a strong interest in attending Boston University. As a result of your continued interest, I am delighted to be able to offer you one of only a few places available in the Class of 2015.

If you are interested in enrolling at BU, please contact my office at 617-353-4492 or intadmis@bu.edu. We must hear from you no later than 5:00 p.m. EDT on May 5, 2011.

Congratulations! We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Kelly A. Walter
Assistant Vice President &
- Executive Director of Admissions

I’m an international student and I applied to SMG as freshman, my stats are absolutely average.
Hope that you will get in soon.

Best Luck,

Mirko

thanks man, that really helps. It’s good to see that they are letting kids in, and thanks for saying that your stats are average, although I don’t know what your ‘average’ is. Hope I hear from them soon, even a ‘no, no chance’ would be nice if just to calm my nerves.

Congrats! I was originally admitted for Spring 2012, and they called me yesterday afternoon to offer me a spot in fall, which I accepted. It’s great to hear that they’re accepting kids from waitlist; they told me last year that no one from waitlist got in.

I got in! I can’t believe it, got the e-mail this morning in my time zone.

I’m an International Student, I applied for CAS and I would say my stats are way below average. Good luck to everyone else! (:

Congrats to all! I’m glad BU is quick about this.

I got in off the waitlist too!!

whatislove: glad to see that happened!!!..

Thank you rodney! However, unfortunately I won’t be attending.

I heard back as well, and I was accepted I’m so happy, and I’m accepting! I got a call actually giving me 24 hours to call back. I called back in a couple hours after discussing with my parents, and told the woman who called me that I had not yet received an email. She told me it takes awhile to process but since I accepted she sent me an email right away. I just got the email and I’m supposed to pay the deposit on the 5th.

Have any of you gotten a response back if you e-mailed them? Because the deadline is soon and I haven’t recieved an e-mail back, so I’m worried D:

@littlemonsterr
today I went personally to BU international admission office, cause when I called them they told me that the msg that I received was just to check if I was still interested in enrolling. I freaked out!! However when I went to talk to them, they told me that they don’t communicate the admission by phone (super weird) then, they told me that tomorrow my web account will update and show that I have been admitted. what a relief!!! so i guess that your link will update soon showing a link to pay the deposit for the dorm.

Yup I emailed them back and got a response later in the day confirming my acceptance of the W/L admission. Earlier this afternoon they sent me the email stating that my BU account thing was updated and I’m now able to deposit.

@Hydro: The local admissions director (not sure how far-reaching her jurisdiction is) called me and told me, then I got the same email posted above later in the day. I got into CAS as a physics major. I was pretty ****ed I was W/L’d in the first place, I had a 3.3UW/4.03W (according to my school’s system which is a weird one) and a 2190 SAT, and what I thought were a few nice EC’s but apparently most schools this year didn’t.

As to if I contacted them after hearing I was on the W/L, if there is one thing I would recommend to ANYONE on a waitlist is to contact admissions ASAP. I emailed them initially, but after that my guidance counselor called admissions and spoke to them a few times as well. The big thing I did was write a handwritten letter indicating your interest and such. The first thing they told me was they loved how interested I was, so I assume it helped

The thing is they never e-mailed me back. But when I logged into the BU student link it had updated to as me being accepted.

I have already paid my deposit though.

I wonder how long the packet containing the acceptance letter and the other documents will arrive, i’m anxious because eveything takes forever to get to Mongolia. D:

Has anyone received a notice today?

i’m on the waitlist too and i have a few classmates who have heard back from them already. i was wondering if they will continue admitting students (that is if there are spots) until the deadline?

Congrats forzworn!
