Last year I was admitted to USC as a freshman but ended up having to stay close to home for a year. I'm hoping to transfer there next year...do you think I have a better chance because I was admitted before or a worse chance because I already turned them down once... Last year when I couldn't go I asked them to keep my application on file and so basically they are just re-reviewing my application from last year (so i didn't have to fill out a new one, I just had to send my transcripts from my state school where I went for this year). I sent an update of awards etc. too. Also, does anyone know when transfers/ re admit applicants find out?

Why didn't you defer your acceptance/count it as a leave of absence? You are allowed to defer your acceptance for up to a year, and still have your status as a USC student returned back to you when you come back the next year, even if you were at another institution (of course if you received financial aid/merit scholarships then it would last for only three years at USC instead of four).

It doesn't count as taking a year off if you enroll at another school.

I wanted to take a year off to stay close to home but they said that they wouldn't defer my entrance so I went to my state school and decided that I'd just have to reaply. I didn't have to do the whole application again because I was admitted once but i still have to be re-evaluated and there's no gurantee I'll get in again...I just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced a similar scenario or knows of anyone and what the odds are of getting in the second time around.

Does anyone else know? I sent everything in already and on the SIG site it has said for awhile that Eveything has been recieved and reviewed. Does that mean they've made a decission already? I've heard it goes faster for readmits because they dont have to go through your whole file again but does anyone know if I'll be informed when the freshman are informed (since my file on SIG says reviewed) or do I have to wait until May to hear with other transfers... Could I call the office for a decision has anyone ever done that? I really want to know so I can start buying plane tickets and arranging to have by stuff sent.... I need to know by the end of this year or I wont know where to send everything thats in my dorm now.... ahhh... i get so stressed out by this. Last year was bad enough and now that im transferring its more stress! I want USC sooooooooo badly! I should have just gone last year when I had the chance... this is the biggest regret of my life.... I dunno what I'll do if I don't get in this time (would they do that? If I was admitted last year would they turn me down this year???)

Has anyone else done the re-admit application? Do you know when we find out?

Hi kaitylin its been a while but could you let me know how things turned out for you? I'm in a similar situation because of military duty for my country, and since USC doesn't do deferrals, I was told to update my application to next year.

I'm quite uncertain about my chances of re-entry, do you have any information regarding the number of people who re-apply who get accepted the second time round? (I didn't turn them down this year but I couldn't enroll either.)
