Admitted Last Year- Re-apply chances - Please reply!!! :-)

Last year I was admitted to USC as a freshman but ended up having to stay close to home for a year. I'm hoping to transfer there next year...do you think I have a better chance because I was admitted before or a worse chance because I already turned them down once... Last year when I couldn't go I asked them to keep my application on file and so basically they are just re-reviewing my application from last year (so i didn't have to fill out a new one, I just had to send my transcripts from my state school where I went for this year). I sent an update of awards etc. too. Also, does anyone know when transfers/ re admit applicants find out?

umm anyone?

I think they should be pretty sympathetic if you had an urgent reason to stay close to home for a year, such as a sick family member. I don't know any of the deadlines for transfer applicants but I think that if you make your reasons for turning them down clear, they should probably re-admit you. Good luck!

I think that you should call and ask the admissions office as sometimes they hold the applications for 2/3 years before discarding them. IF they still have your application on file and you explain your situation, they will tell you how to proceed.

good luck

yeah, I let them know last year that I was going to want to go fall 2006 instead of 2005 and I was going to my state school for a year and they said that they would keep my application on file and just re-evaluate me with this years applicants and I just wanted to know if since I got in before I'd have a good chance of getting in again even though I'm being compared with a new set of people or if they migth not let me in because I already tunred them down once...its very stressfull! I wanted to go there so badly last year and now that I actually can go I'll be really upset if I don't get in...
