So we've planned a trip to U Michigan for Admitted Student Day April 5. Besides the planned activities, what should we do to get a feel for Ann Arbor? Any restaurants we should try?

My D is admitted for the BFA Performance-Acting, but has not visited Michigan (She auditioned at Unifieds). We do have tickets to the play Friday night so we can see a student production.

It will be a tough decision so we want to get a good feel for the school and area while we are there. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Search this thread under “Campus Visit” - a bunch of helpful information has been discussed. You should find ll kinds of info, a lot on restaurants, etc.

My son was recently admitted as a transfer in Engineering this fall. We haven’t heard anything about an Admitted Students Day and I can’t find anything on any of the 50,000 web pages devoted to admissions/new students/transfers and/or parents.

Do you know if it’s just for incoming freshmen? Is it just for LSA?

I hope that you have a great visit here! I highly recommend that you try Zingerman’s Deli.

Thanks, entenduintransit! I Googled first, I swear! Okay, it’s for incoming freshman who haven’t fully decided. Not transfering juniors whose mothers are inappropriately overexcited. That’s in May.

VAmom1234… we were just there for Admitted Students Day and ate like we hadn’t had a meal in months. GREAT food and many good restaurants. We had Red Hawk for lunch one day, right by campus, very good bar food, great service, and UMich basketball game on the TV’s. For dinner, Sava is a must. You can (and should) make a reservation… wonderful atmosphere and excellent food. MY favorite was probably Mani, just a super fun, hoppin’ atmosphere, we sat at the “chef’s table” (bar in front of the cooking area), had the sweetest server and some great food. Enjoy your trip!
