After being accepted to a few colleges, I am wondering whether it is better to attend the admitted student day things or just visit on a regular day. After being accepted early at one college, I visited a few weeks ago and did an overnight. I feel like I would have had a completely different experience if it had been an official admitted student day visit. I really liked the school, but my host student and his friends had a very difficult time of finding something to do on a Friday night (other than drinking). I don't think this would have happened if there were scheduled activities that I had to go to or that I could choose from. On the other hand, I would like to get to meet my potential classmates, and see everything that the school has to offer through all the activities, information sessions, etc. I am having a difficult time which would be better in making my college decision.

I think going to both would be best with a school your serious about. They show you two different sides of the school. The overnight gives you more of the inside scoop I feel because you can actually attend classes with your host and see what their like, taste the food, etc. The admitted students days are good if you want all the little facts and figures and want to see it slightly more sugarcoated with your family.

Admitted students days also give you a chance to see who you might be going to school with next year, and maybe make a few friends.
