Admitted student programs

Does anyone know if CMU offers a specific April program for admitted students (i.e "Tartan Days") and, if so, the date?

Here is the web page for admitted students. The Plan Your Visit link shows your visiting options. Apparently nothing like MIT's Campus Preview Weekend is available. Instead CMU offers (for a $50 fee that pays for meals and a t-shirt) "Sleeping Bag Weekends," which enable prefrosh to stay in a dorm on a Sunday night with a student host and attend classes on Monday.

Aww, no kilt? Lame. Id wear it.

The best thing about that whole site is the button with the dog that says "Enroll now!" because whenever you scroll over it, it opens its mouth and barks. BEST THING EVER.

Yeah, i kept mousing over just to hear the dog bark...lawl.

flappybird- awesome link. I haven't gotten my decision yet (ugh), but I think I have a chance at getting in, and I want to at least plan my other college visits so they don't conflict with CMU. I see that one of the visit options is a "Sleeping Bag Sunday" (Sleeping Bag Sunday - Now That I'm Admitted), but it doesn't show the actual date... any idea what date it is?

If i can find $50, erm... and a ride, i will go to that.

@molliegym: Near the bottom of the Event Descriptions page you'll see:

I hope this helps.

Wow, pretty soon.

flappybird- ah, i'm already booked for that weekend (wash u!) haha. but it looks like they have tons of days you can visit.

I don't remember them charging for the sleeping bag weekend. Sign up quickly! It was full when we tried to sign up. They told us to come anyway and they'd do their best. In the end they found spaces for everyone. I thought the sleeping bag weekend was well worth it.

Alright, I definitely just navigated away from the page that says pay with credit card, and I cant figure out how to pay now.

so on the daily schedule on the days that it doesn't have a column for that day does that mean they arent even doing any tours or anything that day? Because my dad can only get a certain thursday and friday off of work and they aren't in the columns on the thursday or friday daily schedule pages.

okay, so if you are admitted into one school, but later decide you've had a change of heart, can you switch schools? also, is it possible to do pre-med when ur in HSS?

There's no pre-med program at CMU, though you're free to take the classes that most med schools require in MCS (stuff like chemistry, bio, organic chem, etc).

Changing schools depends on how you do your freshman year, and which school you want to go into and came from.

I saw some people on CC saying that they've e-mailed CMU admissions asking them to reconsider them for a different school and had luck with it, so you can always try that.
