Admitted Students Days for Class of 2022?

Does anyone know if/when Ohio State will be holding Admitted students days, either for the general admitted population and/or for Fisher Direct Admits? My DS has received this information for every school he’s been accepted to so far except Ohio State.

Thanks!

There’s not specific dates, but they do mention admitted student days: https://fisher.osu.edu/undergraduate/admissions/plan-a-visit

ADMITTED STUDENT OVERVIEW & TOUR

On select Mondays and Fridays during spring semester we welcome admitted students to come visit Fisher to help guide them in their college search process by hearing about the Fisher student experience.

Presented by a Fisher staff member, you will get to hear from current Fisher students and a faculty guest. Information covered includes detailed information on a student’s four-year experience as a Buckeye business student. We will cover the business curriculum, academic expectations, as well as resources, student opportunities, career services outcomes, and global opportunities. There is Fisher student Q&A panel followed by a tour of Fisher’s campus.

Admitted visits start at 1:30p.m and end at 4:00p.m.

Thanks @blue60. I saw that on the Fisher page but it looked similar to the Fisher tour we did before DS applied. Perhaps it’s a bit more detailed in terms of curriculum discussions though now that I read it again.

Most other schools “hype” their admitted days more, so I was worried I missed some communication along the line.

We also did the tour and it sounds like the same thing.

DD got an email in her buckeye account and a post card arrived today with admitted Student day dates.

I got a postcard about admitted student day with my scholarship letter. They are on February 2nd, March 3rd, and March 23rd.

If I accept admission now and pay the fee, but later get into my reach school (not likely) and tell Ohio State by March/April if I decide to go there instead then I just lose my fee, right? Is there any downside to doing this?

There is no downside other than the deposit which you would lose. We did this last year because Ohio State sends housing applications on a first come first serve basis, based on the date you submit your deposit. So at a school like OSU if you want to have a good chance of getting your top choices of housing and campus location you need to put the deposit earlier than is the norm for most other schools. I wish they would not do it this way. Applicants should have enough time to receive all offers of admission --usually by march, and weigh all of their options before deciding. Accepted applicants should not have to feel rushed to make an enrollment decision due to housing considerations.

Thanks @trackmbe3. That’s what I thought. I do agree about the pressure to deposit before you may be ready. However, as long as the admissions process continues to have such a wide gap between notification dates, from early Fall until April, it seems the problem will continue.
