Yeah, it looks like the admitted students page has been taken down - I guess it's either to stop a repeat of what happened last time, or just to update everything for the RDs.

Still haven't checked yet, but just a point I want to bring up:

Since the PIN is supposed to be the same now and when you do get admitted, it shouldn't say "Invalid Pin" but rather, let you log in, which is what happened for EA admits. Therefore, it's very possible that there did happen to be someone with your same last name that was admitted. I also would be very surprised if Harvard didn't fix that problem from EA. For EA, the earliest I heard of anyone logging onto that page was 2 PM so it would be crazy if started logging us in at 2 AM. Besides, what are the chances of someone staying up this late at the Harvard's admissions office to just update these things at this random hour? I'm hoping that it doesn't mean anything as of now - because this would be a really sucky way to find out that you didn't get in. Since the website is down, I'm going to go with fate and just wait for that e-mail.

I'm a EA Deferee and I tried and got User Not Found which is the same as I got when this crap came out for EA.
I would be willing to bet that the people who get invalid pin are because people got in EA with their same last name.
At least I hope...........

we will find out soon enough...why worry about it now :)

you really really think so? it seems as if we're just postponing the bad (and good) news.

user unknown + uncommon last name = reject

invalid pin +uncommon last name = admit

in the case where you have common last names, it is difficult to say because u'll end up with the invalid pin message even though some of you may haave been rejected.

ive found that being pessimistic alleviates the pain later on, at least for me. :D

postponing...by a few hours...

not that big a deal to me honestly :)

I gave the last name of an African-American friend of mine who will ABSOLUTELY be admitted (1500+, perfect grades, national recognition in piano, Yale EA admit, etc.), and I received the USER UNKNOWN message. This individual is a shoe-in if ever there were one for Harvard, so for those of you getting the "user unknown" message, please don't lose hope.

KentuckyFriedBeef, i love u so much... i got the stupid "user unknown" too...

I got the user unknown thing all last night, and I sat there panicking until three in the morning. Then this morning brought a FedExed package from Harvard. So worry not, everyone: the two are completely unrelated.

Seriously. Stop worrying.

kitkattail, did you get an admit package already?
Can you try to log in now with a random pin and see if you still get user unkown?

I still get the unknown user. The two are unrelated. So don't worry everyone: you still have hope!

ok. thanks everyone. i know i'll be rejected, but i want to know it from THEM, not from my hacking effort whatsoever...

****ttttt fedex came by with a package from columbia, but no harvard...
guess im rejected :/
but columbia is cool too! =D

The message:

"Students admitted during Regular Action will be able to access this site on the afternoon of April 1."

Has now appeared on the admitted students page.
