Admitted Students Waiting to click "Respond Now"

For those that are willing to click "respond now" what disadvantages does this have.
For example, my friend got in October 23rd and he has not clicked respond now button because he is waiting for Direct Med programs and MedStart.

He wants to go into Medicine. Will Medicine Pre-requisites classes be all taken if he clicks the button in like February vs. now.

you mean October 22nd?? that was when first round of decisions were, none on the 23rd? And no, you start taking classes when you enroll in the fall.

Nothing happens, you just lose the $200 deposit. Wait for MedStart and then decide so you won’t lose 0.2k

the deadline for paying those $200 is 5th may 2010, isnt it? i got in college of engineering… waiting for Ross’ decision…

You don’t get to register for classes until after orientation in the summer anyhow.

Yes, but the pressure to accept early comes from people wanting to get the best shot at housing, registration and to some extent merit financial aid. Would any of those considerations have an effect on how early an applicant would need to accept? I mean, if MIT issues a decision in February, would waiting until then before accepting put you at any disadvantage to others who have accepted earlier?

As long as you accept by April, you should not have any disadvantage compared to others.
