I’m not auditioning for the BFA, just going straight for the BA, but I asked, and at least BA kids can find out in the next few weeks about the scholarship because that’s for admittance to USC in general. I guess I find out later if I made it into the theatre program. I don’t know what the situation is with the BFA program, though, I’m sorry. :/

My daughter is a sophomore in the BFA program. She was one of the first to hear that year and that was the first week of March. A young lady I coached last year was also accepted but she didn’t find out until the last week of March. The BFA class is not decided until after all the auditions are finished, which will be on February 13th. I believe after the SOT decides the Admission Board must then approve their choices academically. If you put BFA as your first choice you won’t find out that decision until after your audition. Those who applied as a BA’s may hear earlier, but I am not totally sure. You could call the SOT and ask them. They are very amenable to answering questions. If you do please let us know what you find out! My son is also auditioning this year. It is such a great program!

I can tell you from personal experience, not my daughter’s, that yes it is tragically possible to be accepted into the Theatre school and not to the university.
