Thanks to my brother figuring this out several years ago when he applied to CUA, I have been checking Cardinal Station everyday to see if there are any updates on admission status.

This morning there was…Admitted with an invitation to the Honors Program!

So for all of you also out there who don’t want to wait for snail mail, here is my brothers post from several years ago…

"I figured out how to find out if you are admitted!!!

From the letter you received with your web user ID and password sign onto the Cardinal station web page.

After signed in, on the left side click on My Favorites, then click on Cardinal Students Self Service, then on Campus Finances, then on Cardinal Pay/URGD deposit. It should say your admission status there!!!

Sorry I couldn’t wait for the letter. The wait was killing me."

Thank you so much for the very helpful tips on getting to the decision. They don’t make it easy to find out! I was admitted and am very happy. Does anyone know how we now access info about merit awards, etc.? Where would that info be found for EA applicants? Thanks again!

You are welcome! I cannot remember when my brother found out about merit aid, whether it came with the admission packet or in a later mailing.

Just curious, to what other schools have you all applied? I applied EA to CUA, Providence College and Saint Mary’s-Notre Dame and applied RD to University of Notre Dame.

Received my official letter today!! It was postmarked yesterday. Fastest mail ever. No merit aid/parish/alumni yet, and no honors invite even though Cardinal Station says I am invited…

Wow I got a deferral letter today, honestly I’m really surprised. Not to sound arrogant or over confident but I had a 2050 sat (710 W, 690 M, 650 CR) with a 4.25 W, 3.6 UW. I’ve taken a lot of AP and honors courses. my EC’s weren’t mind blowing granted but i thought they were solid. I’ve done tons of community service and I thought my essays were pretty good too. I was well above my high school’s average acceptance numbers to CUA. I guess they really didnt like my essays. So far I’ve been accepted to Fordham and florida state university. My college counselor and sat tutor even went as far to say that CUA would be a safety school for me. Wow. Oh well so far my senior year has been going well. Hopefully my mid year transcript will help.

Congrats tho everyone hopefully ill be joining you after RD

I’m in the same boat as you-- we actually have the same SAT, I have a 99 GPA, tons of leadership and extracurriculars, a part-time job, and tons of Catholic service, along with two 5’s on AP tests and some (I think ) pretty ok essays… and deferred! Don’t feel bad about the deferral-- in the last two years, Catholic has deferred 70% of top 10 students who applied from my Catholic high school. Apparently, they don’t want to be a safety school, and want to be sure that you’re serious about attending before they give you a spot they could have given to a student who was more interested. My guidance councilor actually warned me about this when I applied. I was frustrated too when I received my deferral, as I hope to join the honors program at CUA, but when she explained it to me I felt much better! But don’t worry-- you will be fine-- keep working hard in school, and just wait until the RD decisions come out. Hopefully we’ll both be future Cardinals :)

MSK730 is correct, they do not want to be your safety school. If you REALLY want to be a Cardinal then let your CUA admissions rep know you want to be there & that CUA is not your safety. You may need to visit & do an interview. But make sure CUA is one of the top 2 school you want to be at & not waste your time or their time.
