I transfered recently to the US from another country, so none of my credit transfered over. It’s time to sign up for the next school year course. I don’t have enough time to get credit for the advanced diploma, so I’m going for the regular. (I’m a sophomore).
So far, my GPA is 4.0. I’m definitely taking more AP classes. I just wanted to ask if colleges value a higher GPA or a Advance Diploma ?
Since you have come from another country, you are an unknown quantity.
Some states have advanced diplomas, some don’t.
I would work on taking as advanced classes as you can (but still do well in).
COncentrate on the core courses: Math, English, Science, Social Studies and Foreign Language.
If you can take APs in the next couple of years in those, then that will show US colleges what you are capable of.
But don’t think if you are taking “College Prep” level geometry and Chemistry but AP Human Geo and AP Economics that the APs will save you. Better to take Honors Geometry/Chemistry.
