I'm applying early decision to NU and want to know if there's any advantage to sending off my application sooner. Do the admissions officers review applications starting November 1 or do they review applications as they're sent in? Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing.

Anyone know when they start to review applications?

I don’t think it matters.

There is definitely an advantage to applying early decision because it tells Northwestern you’ll definitely attend if admitted. That helps protect Northwestern’s yield as well as let it ensure that high caliber students will accept their offer of admission. I believe the admit rate for early decision is around 40%.

The OP is asking whether there is an advantage to submitting your application in advance of the Nov. 1 deadline for Early Decision. NU does not review the apps as they come in. I doubt any school does this.

Seeing as NU doesn’t do rolling admission, I don’t see why there’d be any advantage

oh haha sorry. the title was misleading somewhat. but no i don’t think there’s an advantage to applying ahead of the deadline.

After completing and submitting all aspects of the application, mine was processed about a week later. On CommonApp, it tells you when they’ve downloaded your application. I’m kinda nervous now…
