hey you guys.well,i was born in a different country(Dominican republic) and i moved over here to the US.I am a resident and not a citizen.although my name is not Hispanic at all(Sky Dotel,I'm a guy btw).would this be an advantage of any sort when applying to college?being an immigrant?

Not really. Many people who apply to college are immigrants.

Well, your Hispanic heritage will give you URM status.

If you are not a US citizen, then you are applying as an international applicant which is much harder to get admitted to elite colleges.

If you are permanent resident, you do not have to apply as an International Applicant. Race not nationality usually gives you an advantage in undergraduate admissions.
