Adventure Orientation

Has anyone heard anything new about the OEO Adventure Orientation for 2012? Everything posted online is a year old.

I would suggest that you do Crossroads. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and it really helps you make great friends before even getting on campus.

:)

Sorry…what is Crossroads?

I am wondering if my S does the Pre-Orientation, when does he move into the dorm? Is it before pre-orientation or is it when all the other freshman move in?

This is my experience from last year, so I’m just assuming it will be fairly similar this year:

I arrived a few days before official emory orientation started for the Outdoor Emory Adventure Orientation program. Since I’m from NJ, I shipped the majority of my stuff down beforehand and then flew down to Atlanta for adventure orientation. You cannot access your dorms at this point. I went on a whitewater rafting trip, which was a blast by the way, and did in fact make friends that I am still friends with almost a year later. At the end of the trip, we came back to Emory when all the other freshmen (not including international students, they move in like a week early) were moving in. My mom then flew down to do some of the orientation things (more for sentimental reasons than for logistical helping me unpack reasons) and it all went smoothly.

Overall, I had a great time on my trip and would highly recommend doing it.

There is nothing listed online about a program this year. I wonder if they discontinued it?

@seiclan There are several Emory upperclassmen on the 2016 Facebook group who have said that information and signups for OEO (as well as for Crossroads, I believe) will open up in June.
