I got in early decision to Emory. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was an orientation over the summer like most other schools have. I havent hear anything but everyone is telling me that there probably is one before college actually starts. If anyone knows anything about this or had one last yr let me know.

You got ED and you are asking this question... go to learnlink, they have a link named "Adventure Orientation" and they also have another link named "OrientationInfo" Click on either of them and welll there you have it.

i dont think emory has one of those acceptees gathering kind of thing over the summer. the thing they call orientation starts 8/26 and this is basically like introduction/welcoming ceremony.

Freshmen report to the Emory campus a few days before the upperclasses--there are all kinds of orientation activites, advisory groups, individuyal advising, etc. It's a lot of fun. You'll get advice on what classes to take (my advice-always try something new and fun that you haven't been exposed to before, because that's what a true college experience is about!). My son is going to be one of the student advisors for one of the FAME orientation groups and he is really looking forward to it. He is still good friends with several people who were is his FAME group.

For those who want it, Emory also offers a number of pre-orientation trips/ experiences for relatively small groups (hiking, white water rafting, etc.) They are supposed to be great.
