Advice for a bio major in SMC

Dear all,

I am a bio major attending in smc this fall. I am planning to apply for transfer in fall 06. Here are some questions that I would like to ask.

1) What's a good gpa for bio major transferring to UCLA?
2) I heard that bio classes are hard as hell in smc, how hard are they actually? Is it like impossible to get As?
3) I know that bio is really impacted in ucla, should I change my major? Are there any sciecnce majors which are easier to get in for ucla?
4) Will UCs consider how rigor the classes are for a harder cc? Or do they just look at your gpa?
5) Any advice for a bio major just starting in smc this fall?

Thanks a lot.

To be honest i find that a higher gpa is more important, then going to a very hard CCC. My friend got into UCLA Bio major from LACC, and his classes there were a big joke(3.8 gpa) i hope this helps!

take ur bio classes at ucla extension.

They are not allowed to look at the "rigor" of classes from a "harder" cc. That would be a huge disadvantage to many students who do not have the benefit of living near a "harder" ccc. With that said, they can figure in geography in order to have a diverse student body from all over CA.
