Hey everyone,

I am a freshman at a state school looking to apply to Penn as a sophomore. Here are a few of my stats:

HS GPA: 3.95/4
SAT: 2210
SAT II: Math 2-730, US History-730, Biology M-770
College GPA: 3.82/4

I applied to the College of Arts and Sciences last year, but was rejected. Do you think I have a shot of being accepted as a transfer student? I primarily want to switch universities because of SAS's course offerings in neuroscience, in addition to the other biology research opportunities.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Anybody? I really would appreciate some honest feedback about my chances!

it sounds like your stats are really solid, and surely people who have been rejected as freshman applicants have been admitted as transfers, but you’ll really have to make sure that you add a lot of new, positive things you’ve accomplished in college so far. It may be worth your while to wait to apply to transfer to Penn so you can establish yourself as a college student really well and come off as a new and improved person on paper. For them to basically get a repeat app wouldn’t do you much good. Though, I’m still surprised with your stats you were rejected in the first place. Best of luck.
