What's your best advice on gaining admission to a top MBA program (Harvard, Stanford, UPenn, etc)?

A bit about myself:
-I recently accepted undergraduate admission to UIUC's college of engineering. I know it's really early to think about and prepare for grad school. Ultimately, though, I plan to pursue an MBA, and I want to give myself the best possible chance at a top notch program. So, starting from my freshman year, are there any types of programs/research/internships I should definitely become involved in?
-I'm pretty set on a major of computer engineering or computer science.
-I don't know if ethnicity/sex is a factor like it is for undergrad, but I'm a mixed race female (Asian-Middle Eastern).
-I'm interested in studying abroad during my undergrad years-will this help/hinder grad school prospects?
-Many MBAs go on to work in finance. While I'm not completely turned off by this path, I'm looking more to follow a tech-related path (think Marissa Mayer, Sheryl Sandberg, Diane Greene).

Thanks for any help you may offer! :)
