Hello everyone,

I need some advice from you guys. I have two options right now:

1) I take Summer Physics at my high school.
2) I don't take Summer Physics.

The pros from 1 are that I can take an AP Science in Junior Year. The cons are that I need the summer to study for the SAT's and also I was planning on volunteering at a science lab or something.

The pros of 2 are that I have time in the summer. However, the cons are that I'd have to take Physics in junior year. That doesn't seem like a con but I have a plan where I want to take AP Bio and Chem in high school and so in 11th grade, I'd have to take an AP Science with Physics. Then I have to drop something, possibly Spanish but most likely History. Also, I'll be taking PreCalc, which will turn my schedule into complete hell.

What should I do? Any advice guys?

Would it be impossible to take physics over the summer and still volunteer and study for SAT’s?

It will probably only take a portion of your summer and it will lighten your Junior course load significantly.

If there is a conflict, just take Physics Junior year and then take AP Chem and AP Bio together during Senior Year. You probably won’t be taking Spanish, so your schedule should be fine.

I would suggest taking it over the summer. Personally, I feel like Physics is tough and it would be a lot easier if it was the main class to focus on. Also, it would allow you to focus your junior year on AP Chem and/or Bio. And as far as volunteering in a lab, you could always do that and just tell them up front your time is limited but you are looking for a small amount of experience that you want to expand on next summer! That’s my opinion. Hope it helped!
