Advice for me on college choices!

hey there, my names dominique and im a senior in high school. I live for the arts and mainly sing. jazz, opera, pop you name it. but i am also very very interested in filmmaking and screenwriting. i love the outdoors and outdoor activities like biking and hiking. i love cute charming things and places, and im very liberal and weird. my grades are not too great, i have about a 2.9 average and got around a 1700 on the SAT so academics are not my strong point. that being said, i love to learn and have discussions. Im looking for a college where i can find my right balance between these things. i already feel very overwhemed with music, and i'm not sure a conservatory would make me very happy. im also not 100% positive its what i want to do with my life, though i will never stop. here are my college choices so far, so if i could get some opinions on what you think would be right for me or not /or have other suggestions. also if im totally second guessing myself with admissions considering my low grades....
1. ithaca college
2. bard college
3. university of colorado boulder
4 eugene lang
5. university of north texas (20 minutes from where i live)
of course cost and own personal decision will come into play

Have you run the net price calculators on these schools to see if your family can afford them? You can find them on the financial aid website for each college, and your parents will need to help you with them. I feel like your SAT is in range for Ithaca, U of C Boulder, and Eugene Lang. Not so much for Bard. Don’t know about U of N Texas, but I assume that is a safety for you and your family can afford it for sure.

You need to run the NPC’s on these schools’ websites with the help of your parents. Most/all of those schools will give you lousy aid…except maybe UNT (instate).

UC-Boulder won’t give you much/any aid.

Eugene Lang is known for lousy aid.

Have you asked your parents how much they’ll pay? That answer will largely determine where you should apply and where it will be affordable for you to go to school.

Bard is probably an extreme academic reach. Lang has grown more selective recently, but worth a try. Also consider Loyola-New Orleans, Columbia College Chicago, Eckerd, Evergreen State, UNLV, Montclair State . . .
