Advice For Transfer Prospects: Looking for good Fin. Aid. for Transfers and Middle Eastern Program

I'm thinking about transferring to another school. My main concern is the school I am at now is increasing their cost every year and it already was too expensive for me. My major is Middle Eastern Studies, but I'm also interested in History, Languages, Linguistics and Writing. My main concern is finding a school with good financial aid for transfers and some semblance of a chance at getting in. I am a good student at my current school but we do not use grades and thus I don't have a GPA, instead I have narrative evaluations - all of which describe me as a very good student. My SAT scores were okay, but good for my state (Maine), but not Ivy level good most likely. I really want to find a school that cares more about fit and passion then test scores. I am very driven in my area of studies and I have several EC's that should enhance my application.

Can anyone think of schools that I should take a look at?

This is the tricky part. Schools with the most generous need based FA for transfers are generally also more selective and have lower admission rates.

It’s tough to give suggestions without a gpa. Check the Resources sticky thread at the top of this forum for a link to schools with merit aid for transfers.

Exactly, that’s my problem. I really need to find a school that will look at the entire package of my application. I am considered a really good student by my teachers and they all think I could go most anywhere, so I will have great recommendation letters. But without a GPA it’s hard to know where I should look.
