Advice for visiting Mich

Hi, I am going to visit Michigan in early January. I am just wondering what should I go check out once I am there? Please let me know.

Thanks

When I did the official tour, we only went around the central part of campus, but the whole Michigan campus is bigger than that, so you might want to check out the rest of campus a little too. If you’re applying to the engineering school, you should probably take some time to see North Campus too, but it’s gonna be a short drive. You’re not going to want to walk, especially in January.

Also, you might want to walk around Ann Arbor a little. It’s a great college town, and for lunch, you should definitely stop by Zingerman’s for a sandwich. They’re a little expensive, but really good!

Advise for visiting Ohio State:

South till you smell it, and east till you step in it. Sorry, couldn’t resist. ;-)

I would go on the tour and the information session. If there is basketball game, hockey game or other sporting event, I would consider going to that. I would check to see if there are any concerts or other campus events of interest. You can sit in on a class to get a feel for that.

If you are a senior and you are admitted in the Early Action, there are different tours for admitted students that are a lengthier than the general tours.

I would also walk around town. South University, State Street, Liberty Street and Main Street are interesting.

Don’t run over any squirrels. They don’t like that apparently.

Off the academic radar…but definitely stop by Zingerman’s Deli :-)

There are the “blue” buses that run round the campus and between campuses (central, north, etc.), so you don’t have to drive between the campuses. The blue buses are free for anyone.
