Advice in getting a high score AP English

Hey everyone, I wanted to know if anyone has any advice on how to get a high grade on the AP English test and what to do during the school year in order to make that possible. Also if anyone can recommend any specific prep books to use for this AP test, that would be very appreciated. Thanks for the help.

lit or lang?

Lit or Language? I tried some prep books for Language last year but I wouldn't recommend any. The best way to prep is to find previously released exams and do them under prc/timed conditions. Learning some literary terminology is helpful, too, but that component was completely overplayed for the Language exam last year (much easier than earlier tests).

READ LOTS. Take a looksee at the reading list and choose from there, if your class (if you have one) isn't doing much in that department. It helps to practice the exam a lot, too--both timed essays and multiple choice. I am not familiar with most of the titles available, but I worked out of the Spark's book for Lit, I believe. (I took both classes and exams at the same time/same year.)
