Advice on attending another community college

Hello CC family. This is my first post on CC so, greetings.

BEFORE I CONTINUE ANY FURTHER, is this the wrong section to post in? I am looking for community college advice... if I am in the wrong place, then please redirect me. Thanks.

Anyway I wanted to talk about my education history after high school and I was wondering is it is going to affect my application when I transfer and if it will how will it affect me?

Graduated class of 2012 and attended west valley community college in saratoga, ca. Planned on transferring to berkeley for business, but no longer am sure about that. Was doing well at west valley taking about 16 units per semester and maintained a 3.6 + gpa, but the problem is that I was going through personal problems in my household that I tried so hard to maintain along with school. So, unfortunately I was dropping my two classes every semester. I attended west valley for about a year and then started another semester during fall. By this time I had already racked up 4 w's. I had heard that you could get away with this by writing why you had so many withdrawals during the application process so I was strict about not getting another W. A few weeks after my fall semester started I was doing fine until another incident had occured that disabled(not physically) me from getting to school and doing my school work. I dropped all my classes so I had 7 W's on my record. So, I was really upset and depressed and decided that I am going to take some time off to work as a server, and then after a few months realized I was really unhappy working so I wanted to go back to school, but I did not want o go back to west valley since I had so many W's and I heard that if you go to another community college you get a fresh record, so I have been taking classes at de anza community college for a quarter now.

What I am wondering is if the withdrawal records will follow me from west valley to de anza? And even if it doesnt i have heard that it will be on your academic record or something? So will if affect my chances of transferring to a decent school such as UC berkeley?

If anyone has general info and advice for my journey as a community college student then please PM me or respond. Much appreciated, thank you/

All grades, including withdrawals, are part of your record and will follow you to all academic colleges that you attend (including community college).
