advice on colleges?

Martin I believe I have some right to disagree with you. :P
Mate, did you notice how many people from the 12th grade had a GPA higher than 5.50 during the graduation "party"?
I'd say, in our school it' easy to get a 5, but pretty hard to get a 6. So those GPAs of 4 (= 6 in BG) are really hard-earned victories. Well, not hard-earned for people who do nothing but study...

Well,
I have graduated last year and from my experience around 24 out of 26 ppl in my class had 6's

ok.
i guess it is my mistake.

now that i have really calculated the relation, i'd say the percentage is 50%.

i do not worry as this means that martin is also wrong. the people with 6 were definitely less than 24, i'd say they were around 12.

(i am finally into these typical discussions of CC! yey yey! we can go like that forever, marto.)

Nirmala did u decided upon ur final list of colleges ?

"Middlebury is highly selective, with admissions decisions based on high school records, STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES, recommendations, extracurricular involvement, and student writing..."

Hermioneisme u r totally wrong. Although Middl dont put so much emphasis on SAT II it is highly advisable to submit SAT1, and a lower score will hurt u down. Also, having in mind the fact that Middlebury College is among the only 6 US schools which are still need-based (along with Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT and Williams College) and cover ur every expenses, reducing ur family contribution to a plain ticket, the competition for this school is more than horrible.

PS: also in case u have forgotten:
