Like everyone else said you have a pretty good chance, but getting your SAT score up to a 2000+ would help a lot or getting the equivalent of a 2000+ on the ACT (I think that’s like a 30 or 31?) Also UNC takes letters of recommendation very, very seriously so try and get some good ones and write good essays as well. Make sure the people who write your letters of Rec talk about how you made a positive impact on the learning environment in their class room. Also it doesn’t hurt if you get a letter of Rec from a UNC alum.
as a current UNC student, i think your chances are good! i think (as everyone else reiterated) you should focus on trying to improve your SAT/ACT, but other than that, you’re good! i think you’re at a tiny bit of a disadvantage as a white female - as UNC’s 60% female and predominately white; however, your stats/EC’s are excellent. best of luck. feel free to ask me any questions.
also, what’s your intended major?

I think you have a great chance of getting into UNC! I was accepted Early Action with a 1730 SAT, a 3.84 GPA UW, a 4.64 GPA W, and my rank is 29/340. Your stats are better than mine! I’m also a white female that lives in state. Some things that might have helped me get in were some unique experiences that I had, a lot of extracurriculars, and both of my parents are alumni of UNC. Also, I felt like my personal statements were good because they were very focused on what I wanted to do. I would just say that when you apply try to make sure that your personal statements are well written!
Thank you for all the advice! I have taken the SAT a second time and I now have exactly a 2000 (670 Math, 640 CR, 670 Writing). I don’t have any family at UNC, will that hinder my chances of getting in? One of my AP teachers is an alumni though and I think he will write me a great rec! I will have had him for two years as well.
Glad you got your score up! I think you have a really good chance of getting in now that you have a 2000! Definitely get that letter of recommendation from your Bio teacher! Not having family alum probs doesn’t make that much of a difference.
Does anyone know how much of an impact the AP exam scores have on admissions? Or SAT Subject Tests? I plan on taking the World History and Math 2 subject tests and 4 AP exams, I was just wondering how much of an impact they have
I really don’t think it has a big impact. My son had AP test scores but we did not send them to any achools yet and he was accepted. As long as your other scores and GPA are good i think you will be ok. Are you in state or out of state?
I’m in state and plan on applying ED!

Does UNC prefer a higher GPA over test scores? It seems as if they accept higher GPAs with lower test scores
Can anyone who got in or got rejected give some hindsight and tips now that all decisions are out? Also, do you think I have a chance?
