Advice on job situation

I know this really doesn't have much to do with college life, but I'm in colleg and this is the best place I could think to post it.

So I'm working on campus this summer as a tutor. Part of my job is opening and closing the tutoring center. So this past friday I was given a key to the place. I didn't have my key ring so I put it in my pocket. I went home and then took a nap and then went out to hang with friends. We went two too restaurants and then went home. When I got home the key wasn't in my pocket anymore.

I've looked in my car and room and pockets and stuff. I asked my friend to look in his car and he said he can't find it (though idk if I trust his searching abilities). I don't know what to do. I start next Monday (May 19th). I honestly have no clue what to do. Advice please?

Go talk to your supervisor. Tell them you misplaced the key. Apologize, and ask them what to do next. What else can you really do? I wouldn’t tell them the whole story about the nap, etc. Just that you seem to have misplaced it, and have really searched. Although I might do one more ‘retrace my steps and look for it’ attempt before talking to your supervisor.

I did one final retract my steps thign and I foudn the key! I had to go to my friend’s car and check myself. The key is now on a key chain and I’m happy! Thank you!
