NJ.Rome,

I’d recommend you to take Latin I to complete your HAL requirement if both languages hold similar interest. Latin and Spanish have lot of things in common (I took Spanish and Latin for 4 years) like tenses. I believe Latin I will cover present, perfect, imperfect, future, pluperfect and possibly little bit of subjunctive, active/passive, imperative just like Spanish I. Latin I will also probably cover 1st person (-are), 2nd person (ere), 3rd person (-e/ire) and 4th person (-ire) endings.

Arabic will be very different from Spanish. (i.e. they do not have vowels, you have to use the dots on the top of the characters to dictate your pronunciation). I have not taken an arabic course so I cannot elaborate more. Perhaps you can email the professor and receive a copy of a syllabus.

Good luck on your HAL courses

Do not take Arabic with the courses you have now especially since you just transferred (haha i remember from another thread) and might need more time to get adjusted. All language classes are 4 days a week too and theres a good amount of work.
