<p>I am really worried if I will get accepted into the colleges I have applied to. My GPA is a 3.9, but my SAT score is a 1700. Is there a possibilty of getting into the colleges listed below?</p>

<p>Sit down with your guidance counselor, and ask what he/she thinks about this. You will get better advice there.</p>
<p>There are other factors besides grades and test scores that matter. As happymom says, check with your GC. If the answer is ‘no, you probably won’t,’ what is your Plan B?</p>
<p>Thank you so much for your advice! For my plan B I have two choices: George Mason or Virginia Commonwealth Unniv. I really want to go to UVA, but I am afraid my SAT scores are way too low.</p>
<p>Also, I have my extracurricular activities and I am taking 4 AP Classes this year.</p>
<p>I talked to my counselor today as well as the career center teacher and they really didn’t help me that much. So I am really just nervous; I guess I have to wait until March when I find out where I got in.</p>
<p>i’d say it depends a lot more on the colleges than your high school (if you had a question about your grades, you’d really have to talk to your counselor but SAT scores seem like you could get more general feedback). i don’t really know much about the colleges you listed; are they very focused on standardized tests? if they are then you might be in trouble, but a lot of schools consider your GPA a lot more than your SAT scores since your HS grades represent the work you’ve put in over 4 years while the SAT is the result of a single saturday morning. so while this will probably bring your chances down a bit, i don’t think it’s a reason to give up; though i don’t know these schools, you seem like a strong student and hopefully they’ll take that into account. good luck with everything! :)</p>
<p>Thank you, smwhtslghtlydzed. I just got accepted into VCU, so I am happy with that. You’re probably right, SAT’s are just taken one morning, whereas the GPA is cummulative.</p>
