Advice please

Jan 2007: 640 CR, 740 M, 710 W with 9 essay = 2090
March 2007: 630 CR, 760 M, 670 W with 10 essay = 2060

I'm NOT shooting for Ivy League school so I'm not expecting a huge score. I'm hoping to get AP credit in AB/BC Calculus this year and I'm in enrolled in several clubs/extracurricular activities. I don't have any subject test though. Do you think I should take SAT one more time in fall or prepare entirely for subject tests in summer?

I want to take it to see if I can get 800 M (I got this couple times in practice) but I'm afraid that my verbal scores will fall down.

What do you guys say?

Anything above a 2000 is already good enough if your not trying for an Ivy. I'd say definitely don't retake if it weren't for your score drop. But since it's only 30 points I wouldn't retake

You're fine. You're done. There is no difference between your two scores. The colleges know this.

Save your money and your time for other things in your life, such as academics, extracurriculars, leisure time, eating, sleeping, etc., etc.

To get some more authoritative advice, you should tell us what your SAT II scores are right now. If you haven't taken them yet, can you tell us what you think they would be if you took them tomorrow?

In general, I agree with all of the above advice. . . especially because the SAT IIs are quite important and in general easier to prepare for (as in, your score tends to reflect the amount of work you put in a little bit more than on the SAT Is).

Hmm. If I take them tomorrow?!!!

Well, here's the thing tho... Would one more SAT hurt me (that is, if I get under 2000)?

bumpppppppppp

i got the same score twice

it's just luck sometimes

in jan 2006 i was getting 2150 on practice tests, got a 2130 instead on the real one

in april 2006 i was getting 2280s and i ended up with a 2130 again...so my composite was about 2140 in the end.

it's just luck sometimes.
