Advice Please

I'm entering that dreaded junior year, and the colleges I have in mind are Columbia (my, if hell freezes over choice) NYU (my, good chance but still a dream choice) BU, George Washington U, Sarah Lawrence College, Georgetown (another reach), and TCNJ (I'd rather not stay in NJ...). I was wondering what I should aim for SAT wise and any other extra measures I could take before I begin the college admissions process. Also, if anyone can suggest schools that are more matches...the above mentioned seem more like reaches to me, and I don't want to screw myself over by overlooking great schools that are more within my reach but are not as well-know and end up not getting into any of the 'great' schools I applied to.

GPA: 99.58/100 (w)
Rank: 3/450 (hoping for 1 by the end of junior year...it's SO close)
SAT: Haven't taken then yet, however I took it in the 8th grade and got 1100, so I know if I practice hard I'll do well.

ECs

Field Hockey (only 9 and 10)
Student Government
Literary Group (founding member)
PALS (working with students with mental disabilities)
Anti-Drug Day Student Representative (1 of 10 students, day-long once a year program)

Community Service (400+ hours...but that's a low estimate...hoping for maybe 600 by the time I start applying to college)

Library Volunteer
Library Youth Advisor
Hospital/Rehab Center Volunteer (twice a week for 4-5 hours each day)

I don't have too many different sources of volunteer hours, but the ones I have I'm very dedicated to and LOVE if that helps.

Awards/Recognition

National Essay Contest Winner
Published in American Heritage Magazine
Leadership Award Nominee (statewide)
NHS

Taking the most demanding course load.

Below average school... AP/Honors kids are a minority

Would have taken 7 APs, 9 Honors classes by senior year

AP Tests...eeeh I'm not to confident about those....

*******If you could let me know if I have half a decent chance based on my ECs, what other colleges I should look into (that are more matches), and anything else I should work on/take advantage of during my junior year, that would be WONDERFUL.

Thanks

i got in to Harvard and Yale with simeler scores but u need great SAT's to get in and try to find more volenteer hours but things should turn out ok

=O! Really? Well, do you mean similar scores like grades and SATs or smiliar stats...like, EC wise?

lol more service hours? Well, next year I was planning on getting a lot more hours, but see, I also have 2 jobs and I'm afraid if I volunteer any more, and though I do love it, I'd be getting to sleep around 3 in the morning each night to get that number 1 spot I want.

So does Columbia and NYU look good? Out of some of the schools I looked into, they were my favorites...and also, any other suggestions for match schools?

it's practically impossible to make much of a prediction with no testing data. Your grades are amazing and your ECs are excellent if unspectacular, but that's not enough to decide.

What the heck? A 99.58? And you're only third in class? Wow. I'm floored. I think if you get high SAT scores and maintain those grades, you'll have good chances everywhere. Definitely aim as high as possible for the SAT's. A 2100, at the very least, I think with those grades. I would think NYU is more match-ish and I would even have the audacity to say "You're in!" No, not really. That was a hyperbole (I'm in a weird state of mind today) but anyhow, you've got a GREAT chance there. Columbia and Georgetown are definite reaches but you would absolutely be a strong, competative applicant at both schools.

Oh, and do you live in NYC? In one of the five boroughs? Because I just have this strong suspicion that you do.
