First of all, how much financial aid does Michigan give for need-based and merit-based?
Second, which is better academically, Ohio University Honors Tutorial College or Ohio State University Honors? OSU is better overall, but HTC is fairly prestigious.

Michigan (along with other public schools) offers poor financial aid in general.

I would go with tOSU. It is a name brand university. OU HTC can’t be that prestigious if it accepts 80/280 of its applicants.

^ Unless your going for something like journalism (an OU specialty).

If you’re out of state for Michigan, don’t expect much of anything.

Are you a resident of Ohio?

Do you know if your family’s income/assets would qualify you for financial aid?

What did you get on your PSAT? Are you a likely National Merit Semi-Finalist?

I am a resident of Ohio. I’m going to major in anthropology, which is great at Michigan, but there’s no way I could afford it. I’ll probably go in-state for undergrad and hopefully go to Michigan grad school.

I know some HTC people, and they find the one-on-one interaction with professors very valuable. OSU doesn’t offer that. Also, (based on people I know) professors at OU are more involved than at OSU. I don’t really know, that’s just what I’ve heard.
