Im going to rutgers business school with the intention of majoring in finance and minoring in gender studies as well as computer science.
My question is how difficult will this be to accomplish while maintaining at least a 3.4 GPA.
During High school, I would work hard to get a 4.0 GPA and I am currently in honors calculus and find it easy. However I only took 2 AP classes, Econ and Human Geograpghy.
I want to know if I can maintain a social life as well......(not a big partier)

If you work as hard as you did in high school and pick your classes properly you should have no problem with your GPA.

You should have no problem with your GPA. It is important to start off strong. Many freshman consider the first semester an experiment and then struggle to get their GPA back up afterwards.

Pay attention to your electives. They are typically your easier courses so try to get an A whenever you can. Always do the extra credit and note if the teacher considers attendance/participation as part of your grade (many do). If you do well your first couple of years, it will help your GPA when your core courses become more difficult later on.

Many of the gender studies classes are on Cook/Douglass so that may impact your schedule. They often require a lot of writing as well. So check rate my prof before you take. A finance degree with a computer science minor sounds good.

Thanks pal…does anyone know how hard minoring in computer science is?

rualum gave you an excellent answer. My son is a Finance major and he picks his classes very carefully. He combines 4 hard classes with one that is really easy like Art Appreciation, Music Appreciation etc…These classes are called GPA boosters. He checks Rate my Professors website to make sure he is not stuck with a bad professor. Good luck!!
