advice?

i just took the lsat today and i think i bombed

umm this may be too much information but obvi i'm desperate

i have a 3.97 at dartmouth college, and i had never gotten below a 173 on 50 lsat practice tests but i think i got below a 170 today

i can't decide whether to cancel or not, i heard most schools now look at the higher score but is that true?

also if my average is still a 172 after december do i still have a good shot at hys? someone told me lsat may count for 70% of the application decision if it is i'll drown myself in a river

only on college confidential would a 169 or top 3% be classified as bombing the lsat. Why don’t you just chill and see what your actual score is-
I’m sure a 3.97 from dartmouth and a 169 would get you multiple T-14 acceptances.

If your practice scores were considerably higher than your actual score, then you may want to do a re-take in December. But just remember, many kids score a few points lower than their practice tests due to nerves, distractions at test locations etc.

People really can lead productive and satisfying lives even if they don’t go to HYS law school.

S is a 2L at a school ranked just outside of the T14. Your LSAT score isn’t your biggest problem right now as you plan a legal career. The recession’s impact on employers providing on campus interviews for internships and employment following graduation has lots of students worried.

I’ve heard that drowning oneself is far less painful and terrifying than hanging oneself, or throwing oneself off of a bridge or out of a tall building.

The LSAT is important.

How did you take the LSAT?..Isn’t it NEXT weekend?

Test was just this past saturday.

Remember, even if you cancel it is still reported.

Some of these comments have nothing to do with what the OP is asking, and some are downright mean. What’s the point of telling dmouth he/she should be worried about something else when the post clearly describes his/her current anxiety?

Dmouth88, I am no expert on the LSAT, but unless you did something like leave an entire section blank, I would just ride this thing out, not cancel the score, and prepare to take the December test. With your grades from Dartmouth, a score in the high 160’s should get you some good offers from T-14 schools. I think most schools only care about the highest score. Marny’s post was right. Despite all of the hyperbole on these boards, there is life on this planet well beyond HYS.
