I have an interest in both schools, but i would prefer a strong undergraduate business education. HOWEVER, the cornell website/this board makes it seem like AEM is almost impossible to get into.

Would I be better off just applying to ILR? Should I utilize the alternate option, and go AEM (#1) and ILR (#2). Cornell is quite a reach for me as it is - I just don't want to put all the work in for nothing if I apply to an uber-competitive major.

in my opinion, you shouldn't let how competitive a program determine where you want to apply.

remember: most likely, where ever you get in will probably be where you will end up for 4 years. if business is your dream, dont give it up just because ILR would be 'easier.' both colleges are realyl compeitive either way.

i was deciding between hotel and AEM, and i went with AEM b/c even though its alot harder, i didnt want to regret not at least trying.

i would go AEM primary, and ILR 2. However, if you are undecided, CAS wouldnt be a bad idea either.

i did Econ in CAS as my primary and AEM in CALS as my 2nd choice. but i really don't think i'm going to get into either... my grades are horrible.

i agree with the person above me. you should do AEM and the ILR.

do AEM as your primary, admissions will be able to see your true interests in a school and applying to an "easier" college will actually be more detrimental to getting in.

thanks mucho...is it a negative (this doesn't bother me, but I want to know) that I am double-dipping, so to speak, instead of focusing on one school to apply to?
