The name says it all. D applied to a few schools with merit aid or nice scholarship opportunities but hasn't been thrilled with the couple that she has visited. In looking for new opportunities I see that many places had Nov. 1 or Nov. 15 deadlines. A few that don't include Louisville and Kentucky but they don't have aero anything engineering.

BTW- they probably need to be at least close to full tuition or I will strongly encourage her to go instate to one of our fine VA colleges that I have already bought a prepaid plan for.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Urban is ok (maybe even preferred). ACT was 32 for her one and only try (hoping it will go up in 3 weeks when she retakes). East Coast, West Coast, and anything inbetween is ok.

There may be more at schools where aerospace is a subarea under mechanical, but you would have to look at college mechanical engineering web sites to see if there are sufficient aerospace offerings.

Of course, the USAFA and USNA have aerospace engineering, if she wants to be an officer in the USAF or USN.

I agree to give UA Huntsville a look. They have an open house on Nov 22, not sure if you can make that.
Not sure when deadline is for app. Maybe email or call?

Here is another thread giving some info on UAH (and other UA campuses).

Look for schools with Mech degrees. Aero companies hire many of them. UK and Louisville will have some Aero electives among the options for their Mech degrees.

Illinois Institute of Technology offers some great merit awards and their deadline for the big scholarships is December 1. They have an aerospace major. My daughter is a freshman there and loves it so far.
