In applying to Cal Poly, you have to declare your major right away. I'm greatly considering Aerospace Engineering as my major, but I wanted to hear your opinions. Does anyone go to the Aerospace school of Cal Poly? Has anyone heard anything about it? Is it a good idea for a future career?

AND does anyone know the average composite ACT score for the aerospace course at Cal Poly?

Thanks in advance!

I’m going to bump this for you man.
Engineering majors Unite!!!

Cal Poly’s aerospace engineering major is very strong, and although it is not the most competitive major for admissions in Cal Poly, it is up there.

Average ACT for college of engineering is 31. We don’t break out individual major’s ACT but you can guess the average for AE will be at least around 31 or higher.

Cal Poly’s AE department has very strong industry relationships with all the top aerospace companies in the US. We were, not too long ago, rated #1 in the Nation for recruitment of Aerospace and Defense professionals. So although I can’t tell you whether it is a good industry to go into, post graduation recruitment at our university is outstanding.

Also, Cal Poly, as a whole, has some of the highest post-graduation salaries amongst all universities in US.

Cal Poly SLO is tops for Aero. You cannot go wrong at this school. You can even build your own satellite.
