Aerospace grad school choices?

I'm a senior at Purdue now with a 3.06 GPA, and I'm probably looking at a ~3.0 semester. My GRE scores are 560V, 720Q. I am thinking about applying to around 5 schools... location is very important to me, so my choices so far are UCLA, USC, University of Washington, and Purdue. My main concerns are I don't know of any lower ranked aerospace schools that are reputable.. I'm not sure if my GPA and GRE scores are enough to get me into the schools I chose. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My stats are similar to yours, but I’m an international applicant, always in Aerospace Engineering:

Nationality: Italian
University of Rome - La Sapienza
GPA: 3.22
GRE: 770Q

How is Purdue? Difficult to being accepted in AE master?

UCLA seems a reach, isn’t it?

eightbitpyro, have you talked to some of your professors at Purdue? What are you going for, masters or PhD?

ghionus: Your GPA and GRE scores seem good enough, Purdue is generally looking for at least a 3.2 GPA to get into the master’s program. I can’t say for sure, but I would think Purdue’s acceptance rate is a bit higher than other top programs. Purdue has a very rigorous graduate curriculum… at least from what I can tell from my friends taking dynamics courses.

UCLA is a bit of a reach, but I don’t think it hurts to try. Hopefully my low GPA from a higher ranked school will make up for it.

Stickid: I’m going for a master’s. I’ve talked to the graduate chair, and he told me I should apply to around this number of schools and some other basic info. He also said he wasn’t sure of my chances getting into Purdue, which is why I’m applying to more schools.

Thank you eightbitpyro…
