<p>Actually they have 73% accpt. rate.. 75% students 3.00gpa+ .. avg SAT for each section 600+ ...</p>

<p>The people who apply to alternative schools are a unique group so the number of applications they receive are often smaller than at many other schools. In 2004 only about 38 students applied to Bennington ED and all of them got in. Presumably these 38 people knew that they really fit in to Bennington's unusual academic atmosphere (read: very self motivated). In most of the college information books Bennington is listed as "more selective" so the group that applies, while small, are pretty accomplished, and not always only in academics.</p>
