Affidavit undocumented South Carolina?

Check out Questbridge too

But on the common application says I can apply as a international student including Georgia tech. I have to pay a international fee to apply

It looks like students whose high school has a US address have to provide GA colleges with proof that they’re in the US legally.

If you apply to US colleges that require a student VISA to attend, how will you get one? I thought students had to apply for those while in their home country.

Alabama prohibits undocumented students too but when I applied at Jacksonville state university as a international it asks if I hold a student visa and It has the option of no. So I don’t believe you have to be in the country on a visa or legally to apply as a international student.

Sorry it asks for if I hold a us visa not student visa to Clarify

Why are you fooling around with schools when it’s stated that that they are not permitted to have undocumented students? There are literally thousands of colleges in this country where you are allowed to enroll. Even if you slip into of these colleges , anything at anytime could render your time, work, money useless when the entire basis of your enrollment is illegal.

If applying as an international you wouldn’t necessarily have a current visa because you’ll need to show evidence that you’re accepted by and planning on attending a US school to apply for the visa. And the proper visa will be a requirement for matriculation. Schools don’t require a visa as a pre-requisite to apply.

JSU’s definition of an international student doesn’t include undocumented students.

Ok so I applied to Georgia tech on the common application And now I have admission Portal and my residency is classified as a international now I’m waiting for my Georgia tech account to activate. Does that mean they accepted me as a international?

Please, you are not doing your research.

If for some reason GTech accepted you, you would not be able to attend because you do not have a ‘lawful presence’ in the US.

Do you have a HS GC helping you?

Your admission portal just spits back the information you submitted. If you put inaccurate info. in, you’ll get inaccurate info. out. The state of Georgia requires that their colleges verify the lawful presence of all students before they’re allowed to enroll in classes. Students who are in the US (unless they’re J-1 or F-1 VISA holders) must submit a copy of evidence of lawful status such as an entry stamp, I-94 record or I-797 notice of action.

I would be careful not to waste application fees on colleges that can’t let you enroll. Do you have a guidance counselor? Maybe they can help you.

I know have Georgia tech account and I can now access Oscar and buzzport in my passport account. What happens next? Do I have to wait for the decision date?

Do you have an entry stamp, I-94 record, or I-797 notice of action? GA colleges are required to get those from international applicants who are already in the US before they’re allowed to enroll in classes. The people responsible for processing the applications and setting up online accounts are not the same people who will be required to document the lawful presence of all students, so having an online account doesn’t have anything to do with your immigration status. The college can’t override GA law. If you can’t provide proof of lawful status, GA law prohibits the college from allowing you to attend.

Do you have a guidance counselor at your high school who can help you?

How are you going to pay for college with no federal grants or loans, without qualifying for in-state tuition, without being eligible for state funds?

Some state allow undocumented students and even provide some funding but South Carolina isn’t one of them. Georgia will classify you as an international student. Can you get a passport and student visa from your home country? If not, why waste your money on international application fees?

Well I wouldn’t even qualify for instate tuition or state financial aid because I’m not I’m Georgia I’m a resident from a different state.

OP, you haven’t addressed the issues that posters have repeatedly raised in this thread.

1-even if you were to be accepted to Gtech as an international student, you would not be able to attend because you don’t have a ‘lawful presence’ in the US. This is not the policy at all US colleges, but it is the policy at GTech. That was a wasted application.

2-What can/will you family pay for college per year?

3-I gave you a list of schools that are more friendly towards undocumented students, including some that allow undocumented students to apply as a domestic student…are any of those schools of interest?

4- Posters are trying to help you, but you don’t seem to be listening, or understanding. Re-read these posts, demonstrate that you are listening to posters who are taking the time to offer you solid advice.

5- Do you have a HS GC helping you?

OP- you seem to be under the impression that getting accepted to a college is a solid, four year commitment to enrolling you AND giving you enough aid to attend.

Neither of these statements is true. Listen to the posters trying to help you- getting accepted to a college- only to have them learn that you cannot enroll due to your status- is a waste of your time and money.

But on my checklist it only requires my high school transcript not lawful status or visa documentation.

You can get admitted but not permitted to enroll. You can get admitted, enrolled, and then told to leave because your enrollment does not conform to state guidelines. You can get admitted, enrolled, and then- two years in to your education- told to leave because you did not meet the requirements.

Do you understand that the checklist is not a legal contract which gives you the right to a degree from this institution?

That is just the application checklist. They are not yet verifying that you have a lawful presence in the US, that would come after you are accepted (IF you are accepted) but before you are allowed to enroll in the college.

Linking to this information again, even if accepted you will not be able to enroll in classes:
