SC Residency Certificate?

I noticed on Self Service Carolina that there is a South Carolina Residency Certificate which states:

“To be eligible for in-state tuition, the University requires each student to complete the following certification.
Applicants who claim South Carolina residency must complete all applicable parts of this certification.”

I’ve been accepted but haven’t yet decided if I am attending South Carolina or not, and therefore haven’t enrolled. I live in-state and definitely qualify for in-state tuition. My question is, am I supposed to complete this now? I don’t want to get accidentally charged OOS rates.

I don’t think you need to worry about it now unless you see a deadline but I think you can wait until you decide for sure. It won’t hurt to fill it out now though. Bills don’t go out until July/August so needs to be done by then. Just don’t wait til last minute since it does have to get in system.

Look at the requirements now to be sure you are in-state according to guidelines if there is any doubt on your status.
