I am a soon to be junior in college and have the ultimate goal of becoming a Physician Assistant. I absolutely love the profession and after doing a lot of shadowing of PA's and introspection, I know that being a P.A. fits my personality, comfort level in dealing with stress, and the level of responsibility I would like to take on in my future patient's lives.

However! Here is my problem:

I am going to need a post-bac. In my last few posts I have mentioned that I am unfortunately a B student with a 3.2 science gpa. I have overcome some early C's but I am stuck in the B/B+ range for my current science classes. The average science gpa for PA school is a 3.5 or so. I am not sure how to afford a post bac on my own. I would rather not give my parents that burden because they are footing the bill for college.

-A bit too late to think who would foot what. If you did not want them to foot that much, should have gone to UG on full tuition Merit award. Basically, I am saying that now you do not have choices. However, your first priority is to get to Post_Bac. Did you research if it is even possible with 3.2 science gpa? Did you look at various schools, I am sure they have slightly different GPA cut. This is your priority. There is no reason to think about funding if you are not accepted.

If you know now you want to be a PA what pre-reqs are you missing for PA school? Do you have an in-state public PA option? More than one?

How many more units do you need with your current major? Can you take some electives during the summer and the following summers at your local CC while fitting in some of your remaining PA pre-reqs during the fall and spring semesters? If not at your local CC, what about summers at your 4 year uni or at another in-state 4 year uni local to your home?

You do not need to be in an official post-bac you need to complete your pre-reqs and raise your GPA. If it is an average 3.5 GPA some will have above that and others will have under that. Can you show an upward trend in your science/math GPA?
