Has anybody gone to this school?
I’m traumatized from my extremely incompetent community college where vital classes would get full in STEM.
I won’t get a chance to register for classes early because of my orientation date im wary the same thing will happen to me at Pomona.
am i just being paranoid?
Classes get filled. That doesn’t mean the school is incompetent, just that a lot of students want to take popular classes. Be sure to have back up options, like a different class or a different section. Be willing to take the 8 am class or the 4 pm one. If you can, get on a wait list and go see the professor to get into a class you want.
Your scaring me.
I think it’s fine if classes get filled a few days before class. But at my CC one particular series of classes gets filled early during priority registration and they take very few crashers.
If you are an new in-coming Transfer student, CPP does set aside spots in your major classes during orientation but you should have several options in case some of the classes are full.
Have you looked into the 2 year transfer pledge? This will help you get your classes and graduate on-time.

I don’'t have an Associate Degree for Transfer so I can’t do the 2 year pledge.
but thank you for assuaging my fears. I don’t care if some of the classes get full, I just don’t want all the classes to get full. If I have to take a time slot nobody wants I will.
call the dept and ask. My guess is that mechE classes are reserved for majors only and (assuming you’ve been admittted into the mechE major as a transfer) they have enough seats for all those in the major.
