I was looking at GW but their extremely high tuition is out of control...$34,000 for tuition alone! My dad told me to check out tufts but I haven't really had the chance. Elodie...what schools are you looking at?

i was into georgetown until i thought about paying for it. It's not worth it to me, i'd rather get a scholarship to a lesser college. " William and Mary, UVa, UNCCH, and Lehigh are yucky." - wha'ts that all about? I'm sure you could get lots of money from so of the schools you have on your list, especially with a little raise in the SAT scores. good luck

Snuffles, Georgetown definently has the best IR program in the nation!
EVERYONE knows Gtown has the best one.

Tufts, American, Johns Hopkins, George Washington and Emory all have good departments too, but nothing beats Georgetown.

UVA is yucky? are you insane?

UVA is a nice school... I might consider applying there.

I think you'll have a great chance at Princeton. :)

Um everyone knows that Tufts has the best one :) Gtown comes in 2nd. Ask anyone in academia and they'll all tell you the same thing.

posion.ivy...are you being sarcastic???..lol

Actually no Fut. Do you have AIM?

From everything I've heard, UVA's campus is filthy and decaying...
The stadium is supposed to be falling apart. Plus, the classes are supposed to be big for it being such a "top" public university.

I think you have a good chance at any of the schools. Do you go to a public high school or private? someone from my school got waitlisted at Harvard with B avgs and 1400s on SATs. Also two people last year got into georgetown, one with an A- avg the other with an A. Both had between 1350-1450 SATs. One had 4APs and the other had 1.

I go to a rural public school outside of atlanta

oh, I'm not sure if your schools prestige will help your application especially because from what I've heard IVys and lots of schools around the new england area sometimes tend to have stereotypes for the southern school system (public schools). Is your public school ranked nationally or even in your states top 100? But those grades and affirmative action will definetly help you. Your a shoe-in for BU, people from my school have gotten in with C avgs (but it is a new england boarding school ranked in the national top 30 prep schools). But I bet you you'll get in to at least one of your reaches because of grades + aff. action (Duke, Georgetown, Princeton or Brown).

read my post i got all sorts of suggestions about where to apply...

My School is probably in the top 20 in GA (not that its saying much)...our avg SAT is a 1080 or so.....alot higher than GA's avg. of a 980..lol and our county is definately the best public school system.

Well I got my ACT results..... 31 (I was hoping for a 32 but it's ok). English:32 Math:32 Reading:35 Science:26 (last year a I got a 28..lol)

any new opinions??
