African-Americans @ Boston University

African-American Female

I want to know what BUhas to offer for African Americans.
- Admission Advantage? (if applicant meets all standard requirements)
- Financial help?
- Minority Recruitment?
- Special Minority Programs?
- Minority Medical Education?

Anything you can think of PLEASE? I really like the school but my Dad thinks otherwise becuase of the lack of African-Americans . . . but if i can prove bu has a lot to offer maybe he will change his mind.

I also will need an substantial amount of financial assistance.

BU is actually well known for giving LITTLE financial aid, unless you are a truly exceptional student

BU is also known for lacking diversity altogether.

Northeastern has a better focus on minorities. [John D. O’Bryant African-American Institute](http://www.northeastern.edu/aai/)

Boston College attempts to, but it has a very caucasian atmosphere. [Office of AHANA Student Programs - Boston College](http://www.bc.edu/offices/ahana/)

Lialee, as a female minority student, you would be better off to look at Mount Holyoke College (MA). They usually meet a lot of need & if you have dreams of going to grad school, the less debt you have incurred, the better off you will be!
