Could some of you name me a few schools to look at who have strong African Studies programs? It is not a common major so I was just looking for some more options out there...

Thanks!

Thanks!

I would think that it’s not a major like economics and physics that schools would like specialize in, so the best bet is any top school.

Thanks but I was wondering if anyone knew of any specific schools with good programs!?

@ LL34

My alma mater offers a program in African Studies. I’m not sure how strong it is, but I do know it has one of the best and largest Africana libraries in the world.

[Northwestern University Program of African Studies](Program of African Studies - Northwestern University)

[Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies](<a href=“Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies: Libraries - Northwestern University”>Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies: Libraries - Northwestern University)

Temple for sure.

^You seem a little biased…

Cornell I’ve heard

You’ve clearly never visited.

Suggest looking at MSU

I know Brown has an Africana Studies concentration (major), but I honestly don’t know how it compares to other school’s departments.
