AFROTC, College, and Travel

Hello,

I’m technically a HS online Senior en route to graduate in Summer 2019. I will be taking the risk of taking my first SAT in Dec. and immediately sending those scores for the HS AFROTC Scholarship. I have told my parents my plan and I know the commitment to this program.

Since I am not part of an athletic program because of online school, I do my physical activity on my own. I have been consistently exercising for almost 3 years now. I am underweight for the requirements and have been doing healthy ways to gain weight.

My overall plan is to join AFROTC during community college and transfer to a university. I like small schools so my first choice is community college. I would like to study aboard as well. I am not sure if anyone of you have done that during college in the AFROTC program. On top of that, if I don’t get the scholarship but get in, I will be taking a part time job and volunteering.

I am just wondering if there’s anyone here who has experience in what I am about to do.

Please share.

Thanks.

I think your plan seems reasonable. Study hard for the SAT. Do timed practice tests.

Yes, you can study abroad after attending community college. I did. I suggest that at the CC, you meet with advisers at to discuss your plans. They can tell you if your idea is feasible. I don’t know anything about ROTC, sorry. No doubt someone at the college will be able to help you.

I would ask on ServiceAcademyforums dot com in the ROTC subforum
